Every year the Distillery Manager, John MacDonald, selects the finest examples of Balblair from the maturing whiskies which he believes best exemplify the distillery style. Of the thousands of barrels sampled each year, only a limited number are bottled as Balblair Vintage. The 2000 Vintage was a superbly well balanced, full-bodied malt with aromas of pears, pineapple and green apples. Introduced in July 2010, this Vintage replaced the popular 1997, as the youngest Vintage in the Balblair collection. Share your experiences on Balblair Vintages, both past and present. Balblair 2000 is bright golden in appearance and a superbly well balanced, full-bodied malt with aromas of pears, pineapple, and green apples; hints of honeyed vanilla, that come from the long years of maturation in American ex bourbon oak barrels, can also be detected, adding to the complexity of this exceptional vintage. This miniature bottle is beautifully presented in a glass bottle along with it's unique 2000 vintage blue packaging. Each vintage has a different colour to its box, making it a lovely item for collectors. This bottle is a 1st Release edition.

Nose: Hints of honey and vanilla, that come from the long years of maturation in American ex bourbon oak barrels, can also be detected,  adding to the complexity of this exceptional Vintage. Palate: On the palate the sweet, honey, floral notes combined with hints of coconut and rich spices. Finish: A smooth, long lasting and warming finish.
