Always distilled in small batches, Four Pillars Navy Strength Gin contains juicy finger limes that highlight the Asian spices like coriander and star anise, and are complemented by the addition of fresh ginger. Finally, fresh turmeric adds a fresh but earthy quality. It's an incredible combination that packs a huge punch! After experimenting with some exclusive batches for the Gin Palace in Melbourne, it was decided that the fresh Byron Bay finger limes should be added to the distillation, along with organic oranges. This means a frenzy of distilling occurs when they are in season, and just one edition of the Navy Strength is released each year. This gin is "gunpowder proof". That refers to the fact this gin is over-proof or above 57.5% ABV, the proof at which gunpowder would cause the gin to catch on fire. An old British Navy trick to ensure the gin was up to strength!
