GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1991 Vintage is an exclusive special release from the GlenDronach Distillery to celebrate the 2017 Kingsman Movie - The Golden Circle. This ultra-premium whisky has spent over 25 years in sherry casks and has been blended by Whisky Maker Rachel Barrie. Presented in a luxurious box, the bespoke packaging features a gold K charm across the inner door and bottle. The GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1991 is a extremely limited edtion product, being only released in the U.K., U.S. & parts of Asia.

Only 2,137 bottles are available globally and each bottle is hand numbered as x of 2137. This bottle will surely increase in value overtime as it has all the hallmarks of being a classic.

The 1991 vintage was selected by Film Director Matthew Vaughn as it was the same year that the films lead character was born. In the film itself, the characters famously sip GlenDronach.

GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1991 Vintage 700mL 48.2% ABV

The Glendronach Distillery has been left abandoned a number of times throughout its history. This famed distillery has produced some of the most famous sherried whiskies the world has ever seen. A much-hyped 1991 vintage from the GlenDronach distillery, released in conjunction with the Kingsman film. The GlenDronach distillery is synonymous with sherry cask maturations and are one of the few distilleries that have delivered consistently brilliant sherried expression in the past decade. This expression, which comes in their Grandeur packaging with an upscaled presentation box, is no different, having been matured exclusively in sherry casks. The 25-year-old is offered at cask strength 48.2%, with 2,137 bottles worldwide.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A so-wrong-it’s-right stinky funk is the first element to be triggered – leather, cheese rind, then gravy browning and ’dronach’s sweet, warm turned earth. Things are given an added twist as dried raspberries/tayberries emerge in the autumnal woods. Heavy, yes, but there’s always rich sweet fruits tinged with this animalic element. A drop of water brings out more cheese rind and heavy velvet drapes. Palate: Slow and relaxed, showing pretty classy restraint. Everything is suddenly glossy and polished, the tannins are soft, there’s added marmalade and molasses. Water softens things still further and brings out clootie dumpling/spotted dick (take your pick). Finish: Complex and richly fruited. Scented peels and incense. Long. Comment: A powerful, elegant Glendronach.
