Great Outback Rare Old Single Malt 700mL (Australian Whisky) - Based on the barcode we suspect this mystery Australian single malt from the 1990s was distilled at Sullivans Cover Distillery, in the 1990s. As Jim Murray sai "I could stick my nose in this all day. This is sensational; more of a question of what we don`t have here! The malt is clean, beautifully defined & dovetails with refined, orangey-citrus notes. The oak is near perfection adding only a degree of tempered weight. I don’t detect peat, but there is some compensating Blue Mountains coffee. Just so beautifully textured with countless waves of clean, rich malt neither too sweet nor too dry. This is faultless distillate, lightens considerably with the oak vanilla dominating. What can you say? An Australian whisky distillery makes a malt to grace the world’s stage.” Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2012. Cawsey in Sydney (think cordial, simple syrup etc) produced and distributed the bottle. Note this is the local Australian version and is sold "as is" - the seal on the front cork is ripped but the back is still in tact. The corks have a tendency to rise up slightly over time breaking the seal.
