Plymouth Sloe Gin 700mL
Plymouth Sloe Gin - The making of fruit gins is a long tradition in the British countryside and Plymouth Gin keeps true to a unique 1883 recipe. Sloe berries are slowly and gently steeped in Plymouth Gin, soft pure Dartmoor water and a small amount of sugar for approximately 4 months. The sugar levels are kept low to allow the full flavour of the berries to shine and allow the dry acidity of the fruit to be an important part of the taste. The result is an entirely natural product with no added flavourings or colourings. Sloe Gin has long been enjoyed as a 'winter warmer' in the countryside

Plymouth Sloe Gin
Plymouth Sloe Gin is a truly traditional English Liqueur, made to a recipe first used in 1883. Its intensity and richness is the result of using high strength Plymouth Gin which extracts the maximum flavour from the sloe berries, many of which grow wild on nearby Dartmoor. Distilled from grain. AWARDS- 2003 Gold – International Wine and Spirits Competition
- 2005 Gold – Taste of the West Product Awards
THE TASTE
Sloe Gin has a rich red colour, which is the result of steeping the finest sloe berries in high strength Plymouth Gin and soft Dartmoor water. The result is a smooth liqueur taste with a beautiful balance between sweet and bitter fruit flavours, and a hint of almonds from the stone of the fruit.
TASTING NOTES
- Colour - Deep Red.
- Nose - Clear character of mellow sloe berries, fruity with notes of sweet cherry and a slight scent of almonds.
- Palate - fruity, smooth and full-bodied with a balanced sweetness and dryness.
- Finish - Long fresh and fruity.
SERVING SUGGESTION
Plymouth Sloe Gin is ideal as an accompaniment to desserts and cheeses or simply enjoyed chilled over ice or simply served neat. Of course – it’s also superb in cocktails. See our blog for cocktail recipes.
