Raymond B Whiskey 750mL 40% ABV

Nestled in the beautiful Ord River Valley of Western Australia, about 15km north of Kununurra, the Hoochery has become a noted contributor to the ever growing (and highly respected) Australian craft spirits sector. Located about 15km north of Kununurra, the Hoochery is the oldest legal still in Western Australia and also produces 100% Australian Ord River Rum. Thankfully for whiskey lovers, this family owned business is also turning its hand to producing a superb corn mash whiskey. Made from locally harvested corn, the Raymond B Whiskey is a corn mash whiskey in the true American tradition and named after the owner of the Hoochery, Raymond Dessert III (Spike), who arrived in the Kimberley in 1972 and then seeing the potential of the Ord River Valley, returned to form the now famous Hoochery. We're proud to support Australian products at MyBottleShop!

Tasting notes

Bright gold. Nosing finds an unusual combination of furniture wax and light corn chip over an underlying fruity base, reminiscent of orange sponge cake. Second pass finds added sweetness accenting jaffa and vanilla, following through with a concentrated, medium dry, fruity delivery with jaffa and spice emphasised before the oaky dryness kicks in. Expressive and different.
