The Dalmore 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch 1966 700mL

The Dalmore 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch 1966 is an extremely rare offering from The Dalmore. This whisky is the creation of master blender Richard Patterson. Distilled in 1966 and matured in sherry barrels for forty years before bottling at 40%, allegedly without dilution. Patterson claims that so much of the whisky was lost during the forty year maturation, it's just coincidence that the final alcohol volume was 40%. This whisky offers an exceptionally rare opportunity to taste a slice of history, and will offer endless appeal to collectors.

The Dalmore 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch 700mL 43% ABV

A triple-wood from the Dalmore distillery: an incredible 40 year old, matured in American white oak, Matusalem Oloroso sherry and Amoroso sherry casks. A rare Highland bottling indeed!

Nose: Sublime balance and clarity. Winter spice, ginger, cocoa dryness, slightly herbal. Toasted malt loaf buttered and with a liberal helping of Seville marmalade. Oily nuts, banana grilled with Demerara sugar and hazelnut spread. Hint of smoke.

Palate: Sherried sultana, wood tannins rise to provide balance and oomph. Thick toffee and zesty ripe orange and marmalade bubbling in a saucepan.

Finish: A little short, chocolate, syrupy, orange.

In the glass with which you toast the Scotsman who's ascended to the age of this bottle.
