White Oak Tokinoka Japanese Whisky 500mL ABV 40%
White Oak Tokinoka Japanese Whisky - Tokinoka meaning "fragrance of time". Produced at the White Oak distillery, located in the city of Akashi. It was the first distillery to successfully obtain a license for distilling whisky. Initially in 1888, the distillery was used for the production of sake and Shochu. When the license for distilling whisky was granted in 1919 the production was small. Over the course of more than half a century the distillery has been modified to enable larger quantities to be produced for market. With a mixture of different Akashi single malts, already produced by the distillery, we will discover them in this blended White Oak Tokinoka whisky. It is therefore not an old blended malt but an entry level one bottled at 40%.Tasting Notes:
Nose: Light nose, dominant cereal and fruity (peach) with gourmet honey and vanilla. Palate: Soft attack, followed by strength on the palate and a little spicy. Very balanced, it has a nice aromatic range between malted cereals, fruit (especially peach) and almond and vanilla notes made by the barrel ageing. The finish is long on malted barley, cream, vanilla and oak.Price / Unit | Bottle |
