Gala Estate

Gala Estate

In 1821, Gala Estate was granted to James Amos. Originally of Galashiels in the borders of Scotland, the family now makes up the 5th, 6th and 7th generations of descendants still living, loving and farming this land. Adam and Grainne Greenhill, with foresight for the next generations, were the first to plant vines on the property in 2009, recognising the potential and suitability for grape growing and terrior-driven wines. Nestled on a stunning landscape between five private forest reserves and four wild rivers, the well-nurtured vines now produce chardonnay, riesling, pinot gris, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, and are joined by 50 hectares of walnuts.
