Kalleske

Kalleske

Kalleske is one of the Barossa Valley’s oldest and most important winegrowing families. The family of first generation settler Johann Georg Kalleske established the mixed farm at Greenock in 1853, after arriving in South Australia from Prussia in 1838. Today, the substantial organic and biodynamic 120-acre vineyard, with an average vine age of 50 years, is regarded as one of the region’s great “grower” vineyards.

It has been a key source for many extraordinary Australian wines, including Penfolds Grange. Kalleske produces an array of wines, predominantly top quality rich powerful reds, crafted from estate grown fruit sourced from Kalleske’s precious old-vine holdings in the Barossa.
