Cutty Sark Tam o Shanter 25 Year Old 700mL 46.5% ABV
The Cutty Sark company began operations in 1923 making a blended whisky with its origins believed to be in the Speyside distillery of Glenrothes, which continues to be famous for its rare and high quality scotch. The company, which has its headquarters close to the clipper ship the Cutty Sark, has continued to be a recognised leader in the blended whisky field ever since that date. The Cutty Sark Tam o Shanter 25 Year Old is the culmination of the tradition, a deep and dark aged spirit named after the poem by iconic Scottish poet Rabbie Burns.Tasting Notes and Awards:
Nose: Vanilla, brown sugar and rich dark fruit notes. Clove, nutmeg, allspice and marmalade too. Dark christmas cake with a little oak and leather furniture for good measure. Very intense and inviting. Palate: More dark fruits, fresher now, alongside malt and sherry. Rich and nutty. Finish: Very long, spicy with plenty of dark cocoa. Overall: This is simply a fantastic blend. Source: Master of Malt Awards:
